Salim Merchant & Sulaiman Merchant are two of the most sought after names in the Indian film and music industry. Their extensive work in music has won them several accolades not just in India but also globally. Rajiv's directorial debut for stage was the musical titled 'Beyond Bollywood'. He not only wrote and directed the show but also choreographed the dance. This show also happens to be the first of its kind viz., a show produced from India featuring an all Indian cast and crew and staged at the prestigious London Palladium Theatre in West End. After taking the UK by storm Beyond Bollywood completed over 300 shows worldwide. It was aired on a live telecast for the BBC 1 Channel in the UK and was also invited to the illustrious Paul O' Grady show. Rajiv fell in love with the story of Umrao Jaan Ada and it was his dream to recreate this epic. His remarkable direction breathes a new life into the enchanting tale of Umrao Jaan Ada

The nation's anthem for motivation, the song 'Aashayein' from the Bollywood film 'Iqbal' has lyrics penned down by Irfan. His lyrical excellence can also be seen in other famous Hindi songs like 'Mar Jawaan', 'Kuch Khaas' & 'Ali Maula' from successful Hindi films like Fashion, Heroine, Chance Pe Dance etc. Irfan has also associated with international artists like Jermaine Jackson, by writing lyrics for both Jermaine and Adnan Sami for the song 'Let's go to Mumbai city', in the latter's album titled 'Ek Ladki Deewani Si'. After a successful stint as lyricist, Irfan turned Producer with the musical Beyond Bollywood and continues to do so with 'Umrao Jaan Ada - The Musical'.
